AI Accelerates Code Migrations: Lessons from Asana, Airbnb, and Uber

Summary & Key Takeaways

  • AI is proving highly effective in streamlining large-scale code migrations.
  • Asana successfully migrated off Enzyme in just two weeks, attributing the speed to AI.
  • Airbnb and Uber have reported similar positive experiences using AI for migrations.
  • AI tools can significantly reduce the time and effort traditionally required for such projects.

Our Commentary

This is a fantastic use case for AI. Code migrations are notoriously painful and often get delayed indefinitely. If AI can genuinely cut down a multi-month project to a few weeks, that's a huge win for developer experience and productivity. We've all been there, staring down a massive refactor. This gives me hope.
